Possible Location for Missing Missoni

After another weekend of searching for Vittorio Missoni’s twin-engine airplane, Venezuelan officials still have no good news.

According to WWD, a radar from the Venezuelan army “can identify the location where the plane may have suddenly lost altitude,” but nothing has been confirmed.

However, if the plane crashed where they suspect it did, the wreckage may never be fully recovered, says one official.

“It is an area where the ocean floor reaches a depth of 2,000 meters, considered too deep for the instrumentations momentarily available. The Venezuelan and Italian are coming to an agreement to continue the search beyond the expected eight days, focusing resources on a defined area and through means that may be more useful.”

Vittorio’s sister Angela Missoni assured fans that the search will “continue in all possible directions until we have found them." She added, "We don’t want to leave anything untried and we know we can count on the continuous support of the Italian and Venezuelan authorities, whose constant involvement is infinitely appreciated.”
