What's in a FabFitFun Box and Should I Sign Up?

Delivery! Your FabFitFun box has arrived. What’s inside? A scrumptious surprise of full-sized summer-themed beauty and lifestyle goodies. Sounds great, but here's the question we all want to know: Is it better than BirchBox? Let's break it down:

What is a FabFitFun box and how is it different from Birchbox?
As opposed to the popular subscription service BirchBox, which sends customers sample-sized products each month for $10, FabFitFun delivers a seasonal mix of full-sized products on a quarterly basis. The cost is $49.99 per box, and the company claims you’ll receive over $120 worth of beauty, fashion, fitness and wellness goodies in return. Giuliana Rancic is the celebrity face of FabFitFun and helps to handpick the items. Both FabFitFun and Birchbox feature bonus surprises from time to time, such as magazine subscriptions and high fashion goodies.

What products did you receive and did you like them?

It Hair Care Surf Spray: We lean heavily on surf spray in the summer, and this one is uh-amazing! After researching the product, we were shocked to discover it only retails for $6.99 — but hey, how else would we have come across it?!

Ivory Mason Sunglasses: These confused us. Did they send us a pair of children’s sunglasses by accident? While we’re huge fans of the eyewear brand, the tiny pair they we received were …strange. We’ll be handing them down to our nieces and nephews.

Catalina Su Lip Gloss: Straight from Giuliana’s much-loved makeup artist Catalina Su, this gloss is a “staple” in her makeup bag. Will we wear it? Yes, but the shade is so pale and shiny that it’s not something we’d purchase again.

Purlisse-Pur-Delicate Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser: This one won us over — a soy-based face wash and makeup remover in one? Obsessed! The formula left our skin silky smooth and clear of blemishes. And, the product retails for $36, so it was definitely a Fab score!

Evian Brumisateur Facial Spray: This facial spray was fun to try and soothed our skin, but it’s far from a necessity.

Orly Nail Polish: You won't hear any complaints about this one! We can never own enough nail polish, especially when it comes in glitter!

Infinity Sun Glow on the Go: Sunless tanner is a must-have beauty weapon in the summer season, and this one made the cut. While it’s not our favorite self-tanner we’ve ever tried (in the brand’s defense, we’ve tried a lot), the color is natural-looking and the smell is minimal, so it gets the A-OK in our book.

Yes To Cucumber Face Wipes: We've been using this product for years, and we have no problem putting a cute travel-size package to use!

KIND Dark Chocolate Chili Almond and Maple Glazed Pecan & Sea Salt Bar: Yum! Need we explain?

All in all, is it worth it?
We added up the cost of the products we’d purchase again, and the grand total was over $80. Add in the fun of testing the other items we received, and we’d say the service was pretty fabulous. If you sign up, just understand what you’re paying for — these aren’t sample sizes, so you’re stuck with what you get. But for many people, that’s a very good thing! And after awhile, you’re bound to score some major deals, like the Soy Milk cleanser we’re now obsessed with!
